What exactly does goods receipt mean?
Have you opted for Monta fulfilment? Within our fulfilment services, we set the bar incredibly high when it comes to goods receipt. All goods received are checked extremely carefully, because we are fully aware of the negative implications of incorrect goods receipt management. At the same time, during the goods receipt procedure the goods receipt control department focuses on processing the goods as quickly as possible: our target is to check and book in the goods within two hours. A fast and accurate service is what you can expect from Monta.

What do we need from you as our customer?
Before we can add products for online shops to our stock, also known as inbound goods, we must first have the correct product information. For this, we need at least the SKU – stock-keeping unit -, description, and one barcode.
In addition, our customers must be able to provide an inbound forecast, i.e. specify the delivery dates and what quantities to expect. This information can be sent to us automatically via a link, or it can be uploaded to the Monta portal.
Fulfilment based on trust, cancellable on a daily basis.

Monta’s goods receipt procedure
Monta has set itself the target to check, allocate a warehouse location and book in the received goods within two hours. This process is constantly monitored. Our working procedures ensure that your products are available for sale as quickly as possible during the goods receipt process. After the goods receipt process has been completed, the original packing slip is scanned and automatically emailed to you. All products we receive are photographed. These photos can be accessed via the online portal.

Goods receipt with FEFO/FIFO
Every Monta customer has the choice of two operating modes: FIFO and FEFO. FIFO or “First in, first out” means that the products that are entered and stocked first are also processed first by the order processing team. Ideal for rotating stock of seasonal products, for example.
FEFO or “First expired, first out” means that the least long-lasting products are shipped first, even if they arrive later than another batch during goods receipt, for example. This serves as a quality guarantee for your products, and has a direct impact on customer satisfaction. Looking for a fulfilment party that takes the FEFO or FIFO working methods into account? Monta offers both options! Your choice depends on your requirements.
After each goods receipt, our system checks whether there are any existing open orders for this item (back orders). Are there existing back orders for this item? Then these are automatically activated for delivery. Easy!
Different types of fulfilment
Did you know that Monta not only helps customers who need fulfilment assistance throughout the year? We also help with seasonal fulfilment; for example the logistical handling of Christmas hampers. And, if you are looking for a fulfilment party to process and send orders on a subscription basis, Monta is the right partner for you. Please contact us if you would like to know more.
Benefits for your webshop
Which products can we receive?
ALL OF THEM! Or, almost all. We help customers with a very diverse range of products. And we also have a great deal of experience in the fulfilment of all these different product categories. By this, we mean products that fall within the following categories, among others:
Whether small or XXL products. Products that don’t need care, or products that do. We are happy to help!

Additional at goods receipt: batch number registration for recall actions
When products are inbound by the goods receiving team, batch numbers can also be recorded. This is especially advantageous for food, food supplements, and electronics. Products can now be tracked and end users notified in the event of a recall..
Goods receipt extras: Best before date registration for food products
When goods are received, we can take additional care by recording the best-before date. This is ideal for the fulfilment of food products; such as foodstuffs and supplements.
Monta records the best before dates of these products at product receipt. These types of products cannot be sent to customers if they a) do not have a batch number or b) if the best before date has expired. Food products can also have inbound and outbound periods; in other words when these products can no longer be received or shipped by Monta.
It’s the customer’s responsibility to monitor which best before dates are about to expire. This is clearly displayed in the Monta portal reports. These reports can also be sent out automatically by email.
